On the African continent one finds a variety of states: Countries with very high population growth, countries with the world's youngest population; countries rich in natural resources and human resources; countries with high potential, high innovative power and a young, aspiring population full of motivation. Germany has a long tradition in scientific education and research cooperation with countries in Africa and will continue to intensify this tradition.
