BS-ERA.NET - NETWORKING ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE BLACK SEA REGION

BLACK SEA ERANET was a network designed to intensify and coordinate research cooperation. It was funded by the European Commission for a duration of three years, starting from January 2009. Ministries and research funding organisations from 13 countries in the extended Black Sea region were involved in the project.

Project aims

  • Reducing the fragmentation of the European Research Area (ERA) by improving the coherence and coordination of national and regional research programmes
  • Developing and strengthening the coordination of public research programmes conducted at national and regional level with a focus on a group of countries from the extended Black Sea region
  • Sustaining communication in order to develop better reciprocal knowledge and promoting trust-building among programme owners and/or managers through a mutual learning process and a systemic exchange of information and good practice
  • Enhancing the links and synergies between the Framework Programme and activities carried out within governmental structures such as COST, EUREKA, NEP, UNESCO-BRESCE or EIROforum
  • Building up a network and opening up to each other at national and regional research programme level, which will lead to: concrete cooperation within the framework of the Black Sear Research Programme (BSRP) and the development and implementation of joint programmes and activities in the region
