ERA.Net RUS- Linking Russia to the ERA: Coordination of MS/AC S&T programmes towards and with Russia

ERA.Net RUS was a network financed by the European Commission in the frame of the 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7). The five-year-project started in 2009 and ended in 2013. Its objective was to intensify and coordinate R&D cooperation between EU Member States (MS) and Associated Countries (AC) to FP7.

ERA.Net RUS comprised a series of activities, which included the development of a concept to coordinate activities of STI programme owners in EU MS/AC and Russia, and the implementation of a Pilot Joint Call to develop a sustainable S&T programme between EU MS/AC and Russia. Besides coordinating the project, the International Bureau was also in charge of information dissemination, communication and creation of synergies with other relevant initiatives and projects.

The work of ERA.Net RUS was divided into six work packages:

  • WP 1: Preparing the analytical ground for coordinating EU MS´/AC´ S&T and innovation programmes towards Russia or with Russian programme owners
  • WP2: Developing and disseminating a concept for a coordination of activities of S&T and innovation programme owners in EU MS/AC and Russia
  •  WP3: Preparing, Implementing and Assessing a Pilot Joint Call
  •  WP4: Developing, Disseminating and Promoting a Sustainable Programme
  •  WP5: Information Dissemination, Communication and Links
  •  WP6: Project Coordination and Management
