Workshop on Regional Mobility in the Western Balkans

On 14-15 September 2023, DLR Projektträger, the project management agency of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) will organise the 'Workshop on researchers‘ mobility: designing a regional mobility scheme for better access to research infrastructures in the Western Balkans' in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The pilot measure is particularly intended to support young researchers in the Western Balkans.

The event is organised in the framework of the Horizon Europe project POLICY ANSWERS and with the support of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).

The aim of this workshop is to develop a concept for and to discuss different aspects of a regional mobility scheme to support young researchers in the Western Balkans providing them access to research infrastructures (RI) in the region. The workshop will also help to identify and plan concrete steps for the subsequent development and implementation of the regional mobility scheme. It will also serve to discuss a potential scaling up of the scheme in the region with co-funding by other stakeholders.

The workshop addresses representatives of regional RI, young researchers as potential applicants, experts in the field of mobility and participants with regional and European expertise.

The regional mobility scheme will be implemented by short-time measures (envisaged for 2024/25) for a limited number of grantees.
