‘Modern China Research’: 13 Projects examine Current Developments in China

With a funding announcement on the current research and innovation landscape in the People's Republic of China, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports the expansion of China expertise in Germany: Topics examined by the 13 funded projects include: innovation policy, corporate policy, education/universities, infrastructure, freedom of science, digital transformation and chemical recycling in China as well as their significance for cooperation with Germany and Europe.

ITB infoservice special issue No.16 – Germany & Canada: Celebrating 50 Years of Scientific-Technological Cooperation

The many global crises of today are drawing democracies closer together. What great advantage it is to be able to build upon a solid base in research and innovation – like there is between Canada and Germany! The Agreement on Scientific-Technological Cooperation between these two countries entered into force on 30 June 1971. The 16th Special Edition of the ITB infoservice is thus dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the scientific-technological cooperation between Canada and Germany.

Call for expression of interest from experts to be appointed as members of the PRIMA Scientific Advisory Committee

In the international funding initiative PRIMA ("Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area"), the Scientific Advisory Committee advises on matters including the strategic priorities of PRIMA's annual work plans. The PRIMA Secretariat has published a call for expressions of interest for the appointment of qualified experts to the Scientific Advisory Committee (for the period 2021-2024). Deadline for submission of online applications is 11 May 2021.

Initiative for the Mediterranean Area publishes 4th Call

On 5 March 2021, the PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) funding initiative published its 4th call with a total funding volume of 68 million euros. Topics cover all three priority areas of PRIMA - water management, agricultural systems and agro-food value chains. This year, the call includes seven topics for green, equitable and resilient recreation in the Mediterranean.

Cultivating Franco-German friendship in our schools

Today, the Federal Minister of Education and Research Anja Karliczek will have a virtual meeting with school classes from Germany and France to celebrate the Franco-German Day. This day is mainly dedicated to Franco-German relations in the educational institutions of the two countries. On the Franco-German Day, institutions, authorities and companies offer young people an insight into their everyday work and into their experiences with the partner country.
