German Science Day in Vietnam

On 30 October 2019, a German Science Day will be held in Hanoi. It will be the third event of its kind in Vietnam. The Science Day is jointly organised by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the DAAD branch office Hanoi and serves to present bilateral research projects and facilitate further networking.

In the past, bilateral research projects concentrated mainly on the north of Vietnam. After a first successful German Science Day 2015 in Hanoi, in 2017 the interested scientific community in South Vietnam was brought up to speed on the various possibilities of cooperation with Germany at the second German Science Day in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event presented exemplary bilateral projects in the fields of water and environmental technologies, sustainable urban development, bioeconomy and health research. In addition, both ministries and other German funding institutions presented funding intruments for new joint project ideas.
