EUREKA links Europe’s financial resources and expertise in order to simplify access to funds for realising European research and development projects. The EUREKA contact points assist with project preparation and implementation besides providing information about suitable funding programs and other forms of financing.
In Germany, the EUREKA office is located at DLR Projektträger, the project management agency of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It works as a national contact point for EUREKA on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Since its foundation in 1985, EUREKA has become an established part of the European research landscape.
Currently, 42 countries and the European Commission are full members: In addition to all Member States of the European Union, these are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iceland, Israel, Monaco, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Russia*, San Marino, Switzerland, Serbia, Ukraine, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
The Republic of Korea is a partner country; Canada, Singapore, and South Africa are associated to EUREKA.
* EUREKA statement on the invasion of Ukraine by Russia:
"The Eureka network, the global public network for cooperation in R&D and innovation, joins the international community to strongly condemn the Russian attack on an independent country, violating international law and the values that Eureka holds close.
We express our solidarity with all those who suffer the consequences of this conflict, the people of Ukraine, in particular.
We hope for a swift resolution to this conflict and an end to all hostilities.
As Russia is a member of Eureka, strong measures are being prepared to be voted upon by the Eureka High Level Group."
