On the Iranian side, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), the Ministry of Health (MoHME) and the Iranian National Science Foundation (INSF) were participating in this series of events.

The aim of this information tour, which was initiated after the Day of German Science in Iran in February / March 2018, is to further intensify German-Iranian cooperation in science and research. After years of isolation, there is still a lot of catching up to do on both sides in terms of mutual potential and needs. Accordingly, this tour will present information about opportunities for German-Iranian research cooperation and German and Iranian research funding at outstanding Iranian universities.

During the 7-day event series, Teheran University (Tehran), Yazd University, Ferdowsi University (Mashhad) and the University of Guilan (Rasht, formerly German-Iranian University) were visited. The events were attended by 100 to 500 Iranian participants. In line with the target group of the event series, this included not only the respective university management and numerous professors, but also many participants from the academic mid-level faculty. An essential part of the events were the respective "Round Tables", during which the Iranian participants were given the opportunity to exchange directly with the speakers. Due to the great interest of the Iranian side, the "Round Tables" were used for an intensive exchange. The content and objectives of the issues discussed once again showed the extraordinarily high level of research at Iranian universities and the continuing high level of interest in working together with German research institutions.
