"Research in Germany" – SME delegation visit to San Francisco

As part of its research marketing activities, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is organisting joint presentations of research-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at selected career and trade fairs in the United States. The GAIN Annual Meeting,  which will take place in San Francisco on 25th to 27th August, was selected as a second event within the pilot phase 2017.

25-29 August 2017 | San Francisco, USA

Four research-intensive SMEs from Germany are given the opportunity to present themselves at a joint stand under the brand "Research in Germany" and to play an active role in the accompanying conference programme. The participation of the BMBF is aimed at opening up the US research market for SMEs, e.g. through the development of international cooperation opportunities, and, in a further step, to support SMEs in the recruitment of specialists.

GAIN (German Academic International Network) is the network of German scientists in North America. The GAIN Annual Meeting combines an extensive conference program with an accompanying career fair   and provides a platform to exchange views with representatives from the German scientific community, research, politics and industry, and to develop targeted career perspectives. The exhibition is complemented by a supporting programme which includes appointments with multipliers and advisory centers such as the Consulate General, the German-American Chamber of Commerce and the 'German Accelerator' initiative as well as with contact persons in universities, research facilities and companies in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
