INTAS is an independent international association whose members include the European Union (EU), the EU member states and further countries of the world. The primary objective of INTAS is the promotion of scientific cooperation between the INTAS member states and the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
INTAS is the only pan-European, EU-funded organisation which is dedicated to scientific cooperation with Russia, the Ukraine and the other countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and which has built up its own structures and networks. INTAS is characterised by a high degree of openness to supporting all scientific disciplines. In accord with the EU Research Framework Programme, the primary objective of INTAS is the integration of scientists from the CIS countries in the European Research Area (ERA).
At present, the members of INTAS are: the EU, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
