Information Desks

The International Bureau (IB) provides information, consultation and grants to cover costs connected with the preparation of collaborative projects with:

  • ISTC (International Science and Technology Centre) in Moscow
  • STCU (Science and Technology Center in Ukraine) in Kiev
  • INTAS (International Association for the Promotion of Cooperation with Scientists from the New Independent States of the Former Sovjet Union)

Moreover, the IB supports the BMBF in its work within the program committees presiding over the cooperation with these organisations.

  • ISTC - International Science and Technology Center in Moscow

    The traditional forms of bilateral cooperation are complemented by collaborative activities with the International Science and Technology Centre (ISTC) in Moscow. In cooperation with EU organisations, ISTC provides scientists and engineers formerly active in the military-industrial sector in Russia and the other CIS states with opportunities for employment and international cooperation in the civilian sector.

  • STCU - Science and Technology Center In Ukraine

    The Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) in Kiev was established on October 13, 1993 within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement between the USA, Canada, Sweden and the Ukraine. The main objective of STCU is to help Ukrainian scientists and engineers once active in the military-industrial sector find employment in the civilian sector through the funding of R&D projects - often in cooperation with partner organisations in the EU. A large number of bilateral connections between Germany and the Ukraine have been established within the framework of STCU initiatives.

  • INTAS - International Association for the Promotion of Co-operation with Scientists from the New Independent States (NIS) of the Former Soviet Union

    INTAS is an independent international association whose members include the European Union (EU), the EU member states and further countries of the world. The primary objective of INTAS is the promotion of scientific cooperation between the INTAS member states and the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
