16 - 17 February 2017 | Tirana
The research and innovation system in Albania offers high potential for short- and long-term economic growth which should be exploited. On the one hand, this can be achieved by reducing legislative and institutional barriers that influence both national and regional cooperation between business and science, and on the other hand by promoting international research cooperation and research initiatives.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is committed to the integration of the Western Balkan countries (WBC) into the "European Research Area" (ERA) and supports cooperation through political dialogue and capacity building and joint research and innovation activities.
As part of the Tirana workshop, the participants will discuss current challenges for the Albanian research and innovation system and gather concrete ideas on how to promote joint projects, policy advice, capacity building and knowledge transfer. As a result, concrete follow-up activities are expected.
