Other information portals of the International Bureau

The design and maintenance of websites is becoming an increasingly important field of work for the IB. These activities are particularly in demand in connection with EU projects. The IB is actively involved in the establishment, the ongoing maintenance and the expansion of the following websites or is solely responsible for running them:

  • The BMBF International Cooperation Portal

    In this age of globalization, it is more important than ever to give science and education an international focus in order to maintain or improve their performance. Global challenges can only be met successfully with the help of international and multilateral cooperation. Since 2002, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research has been running internationale-kooperation.de, an initiative that offers opportunities for successful cross-border collaboration in research and education.

  • Deutsch-Russisches Jahr der Bildung, Wissenschaft und Innovation 2011/12

    Im Juli 2010 haben Ministerin Schavan und ihr russischer Amtskollege Minister Fursenko die Durchführung eines Deutsch-Russischen Jahres der Bildung, Wissenschaft und Innovation 2011/2012 beschlossen. Das bilaterale Wissenschaftsjahr soll erfolgreichen bestehenden Kooperationen in beiden Länden eine höhere Sichtbarkeit verleihen. Darüber hinaus setzt die Initiative wichtige Impulse für zukünftige Forschungs- und Bildungskooperationen zwischen Deutschland und Russland.

  • Deutsch-Brasilanisches Jahr der Wissenschaft, Technologie und Innovation 2010/11 (DBWTI)

    Deutschland und Brasilien verbindet seit mehr als 40 Jahren eine starke Partnerschaft in der Wissenschaft und Forschung. Um diese erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit zu würdigen und ihr neue Impulse zu geben, haben die deutsche Bundesministerin für Bildung und Forschung Prof. Annette Schavan und der brasilianische Forschungsminister Prof. Sergio Rezende am 12. April 2010 in Sao Paulo gemeinsam das "Deutsch-Brasilianische Jahr der Wissenschaft, Technologie und Innovation 2010/11" eröffnet. Unter dem Motto nachhaltig:innovativ finden in beiden Ländern von April 2010 bis April 2011 zahlreiche Aktivitäten statt.

  • Sino-German Year 2009/2010

    The "Sino-German Year of Science and Education 2009/2010" was opened by the Federal Minister of Education and Research Annette Schavan, her Chinese counterpart Wan Gang and Chinese Vice-Minister of Education Chen Xiaoya with a joint ceremony at the Free University of Berlin on 30 March 2009. The bilingual (Chinese/German) website was launched alongside the opening event. It will continuously provide news about the Year of Science.

  • International Dialogue on Science for Sustainability (D4S)

    Internationally coordinated research agendas are necessary in order to ensure that research generates sustainable solutions to global challenges. The BMBF has entrusted the International Bureau with the preparation and coordination of an international research policy dialogue for sustainability research.

  • ERAfrica - Developing African-European Joint Collaboration for Science and Technology

    The EU funded project ERAfrica aims at promoting a unified European approach to collaborating with Africa in the field of science and technology research for innovation and sustainable development. The project website informs about current developments in this field and provides information about project related events. It will continually be expanded throughout the duration period of the project.

  • ACCESS4EU

    The Access4EU projects aim to inform European scientists about funding opportunities through the national programmes of 11 non-EU countries. As the EU's Research Framework Programme is generally open to third countries, in turn, the EU's agreements on scientific and technological cooperation with third countries require these countries to open their national programmes to EU researchers. Central element of the web portal is a programme database, which is continually maintained and updated. The web portal is also an access point to the indivual project websites of the 11 participating countries.

  • IncrEAST

    One-stop information platform about research, science and technology cooperation between the EU and Eastern Europe/Central Asia. The bilingual (English/Russian) web portal is the first of its kind and provides comprehensive information about twelve countries in the regions, which is regularly updated by local experts. In addition incrEAST offers up-to-date information on current news, events and calls.

  • S&T Gate RUS.EU

    The web portal “S&T Gate RUS.EU” aims to improve networking between the research structures of the European Union and the Russian Federation, to increase mutual knowledge of the national research landscapes, and thereby to support international co-operation. In addition to background documents and information about research infrastructures, the portal also offers current news, events and calls.

  • S&T Gate UKR.EU

    The web portal "S&T Gate UKR.EU" aims to identify and analyse the potential of EU-Ukraine S&T cooperation. The platform addresses researchers, developers and scientists who are interested in carrying out cross-border research projects. S&T Gate UKR.EU is also aimed at decision-makers in politics and the private sector. It offers not only background information, but also current news, events and calls.

  • IncoNet EECA

    Within the EU project IncoNet EECA (international S&T cooperation network between the EU and Eastern Europe/Central Asia) the IB is responsible for disseminating information to the research policy community. The project website, which is run by the IB, offers information about current project developments and events as well as about project partners. Consortium members also have access to a password protected project communication platform.

  • IncoNet CA/SC

    The IncoNet CA/SC project is an extension of the ongoing EU project IncoNet EECA with a focus on Central Asia and the South Caucasus. As in the related roject, the International Bureau is reponsible for the project's  dissemination activities including the website, which offers current information about project developments and events as well as about the members of the consortium. Project partners also have access to a password protected communication platform.

    BILAT-RUS is an EU-funded project that aims to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation between the Russian Federation and EU Member States, accession candidates and associated countries.     The EU funded project BILAT-UKR aims to intensify scientific and technological cooperation between Ukraine and the EU Member States.     ERA.Net RUS aims to intensify scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and the EU. The focus of the website is to offer information about the activities and results of the project.

  • Strategic Partnership Germany-Russia

    The bilingual (Russian/German) web-portal provides information about the stategic partership in education, research and innovation between Russia and Germany. This cooperation was designed to promote joint activities between German and Russian universities, research centres and enterprises. Main topics of the website include biotechnology, health research, information and communication technology, marine and polar research, climate change and space exploration. The website informs about current political developments in these areas.

  • COGERIL

    The portal on interministerial cooperation between Israel and Germany provides information about the BMBF’s collaborative activities with the Israeli Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport (MOST) and the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor (MOITAL). The thematic priorities are biotechnology, cancer research, environmental research, laser and optical technologies, marine research and geosciences, neurosciences, materials research and nanotechnology, renewable energy sources, social sciences, and hydraulic engineering. The English-language website offers an overview of joint activities and funding opportunities.

  • GIST 2008

    This bilingual (German and English) website went online on 7/8 April 2008, which was when the German-Israeli Year of Science and Technology (GIST) was launched. A number of events took place in Germany and in Israel throughout the Year of Science. Comprehensive information about these activities was compiled in a database and made available in the form of a user-friendly calendar of events.

  • Third G8-BMENA Ministerial Meeting on Education

    This website was created for the preparation and support of the above-mentioned meeting of Education Ministers at the Petersberg in Bonn in November 2007. Afterwards, the structure of the website was updated to make the results of the conference (reports, presentations, pictures) accessible to all those interested.
