Priority campaigns

If we want competitive research and innovation in Germany, we need to work together with countries that have significant scientific and technological resources and in which important future markets are emerging. That is why we carry out targeted subject- and country-specific priority campaigns as part of our efforts to present Germany to other countries.

The first pilot measure, an advertising campaign for the target country South Korea, has already been completed. Campaigns focussing on the fields of environmental technologies and nanotechnologies will start in 2008.

  • Russia and Germany - Partnership of Ideas

    This is the title of a new BMBF country-specific campaign which will present Germany in Russia in 2012 as part of the "Promoting Innovation in Germany" initiative under the brand "Research in Germany - Land of Ideas". The Russian Federation is an important strategic partner for Germany in education, research and innovation.

  • Medical Technology

    Medical technology development in Germany has generally followed a dynamic trend and the field is well positioned internationally both in terms of research and industrial implementation. This is an innovative sector with future potential that makes a major contribution to the provision of better medical care for the population, meaning it is regarded as very important for society as a whole. The sector is also responsible for creating jobs and promoting prosperity.

  • Germany and India – Strategic Partners for Innovation

    With the motto, India and Germany – strategic partners for innovation“, Germany is presented as an innovation location by excellent representatives from universities, research institutions and innovation clusters. Particular emphasis is placed on the fields of biotechnology, health research, production technology, energy and environmental technology and sustainability research.

  • Nanotechnology: Tiny particles make it big

    Nanotechnology is internationally seen as one of the most important and promising technologies. Germany has great R&D capabilities in this field. The aim is to use research marketing instruments to raise awareness of this expertise at an international level.

    Korea was chosen as the start of this venture because of the good bilateral cooperation, its position as a prime partner and advanced high-tech country in asia. The inititative aims at starting further R&D-cooperations between German and Korean research institutions and companies as well as to attract further direct investments.
